These 3 sculptures are an exploration of 'Nests' and a meditation on our animal need for a secure, war home.the nest becomes a private universe and creates a literal or perhaps illusory sense of center. Homes are paradoxically precarious places vulnerable to, and poignantly unaware of outside dangers and external menace.Just as human homes are ripped apart and dismantled by disaster and war, the birds' nest can be a fools paradise.Nests, like human homes, become competitive in their creation and can sometimes become hostile environments that house chaos and fear; but also love and unity. These sculptures are a conversation between birds and mankind and our parallel hopes and insecurities within a larger landscape.
