Round #03 of the Axisweb Artist Award officially opens on 3 November 2017.

Our aim is to support artists. It’s not about defining outcomes, it’s about giving artists the space and time to be ambitious, challenge and allow the unplanned or unexpected to emerge.

The May 2017 Axisweb Artist Award was given to Chris Agnew for his Romanian social history project 'Annex'. In September 2017, Glasgow based artist Winnie Herbstein was selected for her project 'Studwork' exploring the exclusion of women from industrial spaces.

The Award offers £1,000 cash, a personalised support package, an artist film produced by Axisweb plus editorial and promotion through our website and social media platforms.

In addition to the Artist Award winner, we will select two outstanding applications to receive non-cash support.

We will be looking for applications from artists that demonstrate a critical framework in approach and a desire to challenge their practice.

Proposals will be reviewed the the Axisweb curatorial team and Sarah Martin, Head of Exhibitions at Turner Contemporary.

The Axisweb Artist Award is for Members Only.  Not yet a member - Become a member of Axisweb.
